Welcome to CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH

Growing in Faith Together

Growing your faith in the Lord is rewarding when you have a faithful Shepherd.  Come and witness and participate in our Sunday Worship as we join together, hear the Word of God and strive to encourage one another in our Christian Discipleship

OUR WORSHIP IS TRADITIONAL

We worship with both Word and Sacrament. Our Liturgy is a Divine Service because God is serving us  with His Love, His Forgiveness and His Salvation so that we can go out into the world and share the Good News with everyone!

This is My Body….This is My Blood…Do this in Memory of Me.

MAUNDAY THURSDAY – 6PM – We celebrate the Lord’s Last Supper, the institution of the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, and we remember Christ’s sorrowful prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane. We strip the altar and leave the church silently in the dark at the end of this service.

For God So Loved the World, He Gave His Only Begotten Son that who so ever shall believe in Him shall have life everlasting – John 3:16

GOOD FRIDAY – 6PM –  We remember the suffering and death of Our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross for our sins and the sins of all mankind.  The church is dark and there is no Commnion at the Tenabrae Service.

PALM SUNDAY PROCESSION

Our Palm Sunday 10 AM worship service on Sunday March 24th began with the blessing and procession of Palms in Luther Hall. Parishoners arrived a few minutes before 10 AM, to  receive a palm cross to wear and palm branches to carry during the procession from Luther Hall to the sanctuary. We walked a short way from Luther Hall to the church sanctuary where the service continued with the singing of the hymn “All Glory Laud and Honor”. Here are some photos from the Palm Sunday Procession:

NEW NEIGHBORS COMING TO OUR BLOCK:

NEW NEIGHBORS: Our church will be getting many new neighbors in the next year or two. The St. Petersburg City Council has approved 95 Affordable Housing Units for the lot behind the church which is owned by the St. Petersburg Housing Authority. These neighbors will be all age groups and similar to our other existing neighbors. For more information, please go to stpeteha.org. to learn more about how our new neighbors will impact our neighborhood, and the ministries we might offer here at Christ Lutheran Church. It will likely take a year or two for these new rental apartments to be ready for occupancy, which will give us time to plan on how to best serve our new neighbors.
